Peyton Goddard, a writer, presenter, and advocate for
inclusion, welcomes you to her website, a place where you can share in
her incredible journey. At the age of six, diagnosed as mentally
retarded, Peyton's life was stripped of hope and worth by a culture
preoccupied with identifying deficits and disability. A full sixteen
years later, when Peyton finally gained a dependable mode of
communication, she was at last recognized as an intelligent woman. She
eventually shattered her previous prognosis when she graduated as the
valedictorian of Cuyamaca College in 2002. You are invited to learn
more about her and her forthcoming memoir, I AM INTLGENT, as
well as explore some of the broader resources provided here. Join her
in championing the radical notion that everyone deserves a seat at the
table.
